UK book ghostwriting · from £797
And it’s free.
A ghostwriter interviews you and writes in your voice. Your name on the cover, rights yours.
Tell us what the book is. If it’s a fit, we’ll write 1,000 words of it, free.
Read it, and decide.
The honest answer
You could. Most people who try end up with forty chat threads and no book. Ghostwriting a book was never about generating words — finishing is the hard part, and sounding like yourself for 40,000 words is. We use AI deliberately, in the places it is genuinely better, and nowhere near the writing itself. Here is exactly where.
AI does the research and the first outline
Weeks of subject research and structural planning, done in hours. That outline then goes through editorial scrutiny before a single word is written — the machine is fast, the judgement is ours.
A book ghostwriter writes every word of the prose
Writers with twenty years behind them. AI prose is fluent, evenly paced and committed to nothing — readers rarely name it, they just stop reading.
Amazon draws the same line
KDP asks you to declare AI-generated text. Your manuscript is written by a person. What you declare is your call — we are telling you how the book is made.

Reviews
Verified reviews from authors across our editing and publishing services. Ghostwritten books are confidential, so these are the clients who can be named.
“This was my first time for this and they help me all the way. There attention to details was great. I love the eloquence of the work. The response time I thougth it was alil slow, but that's realy me, I'm still working on being patient..lol. I will definitely us them again. I do have some more projects.”
Rodney GuptonAuthor of Forgiven Before You Were Born“I'm a first-time book publisher, and I could not have found a better partner than HMD Publishing. They did both my cover design and the work of uploading the manuscript to Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. The team was consistently knowledgeable, professional, responsive, detail-oriented, courteous, and above all patient. I had dozens of questions as we worked through the process, and they answered each one thoroughly and without ever making me feel ridiculous for asking. My book launched two days ago, and HMD has my highest recommendation for anyone looking for professional services to help make your writing dreams come true.”
Barbara WoolardAuthor of Beyond Words: The Power of Action in a World of Thoughts and Prayers“This is my second book working with them. My first experience was good. This time it was even better. Will use again for my next book. Really loved the formatting design. Very professional. Quick on replies. Great Cooperation. Fast delivery.”

If your book is bigger or stranger than the three packages, or you would rather agree scope before anything is written, send the project brief instead. Reviewed within one business day.
How you verify the work
Confirm the reader, purpose, genre, target length, source material, voice direction and the result the book needs to achieve.
Review the outline and the writing signals that should make the manuscript feel recognisably yours before full drafting accelerates.
Review planned chapter batches or milestones so voice and direction can be corrected while the book is still being built.
Resolve feedback within the agreed scope, review continuity across the full draft and approve the manuscript for its next production stage.
Ghostwritten manuscripts should not be displayed without the author's permission, and a cover alone does not verify who wrote them. That is why this page shows the approvals you control on your own project rather than a gallery of other people's books.
FAQ
Clear answers on timeline, scope, rights, revisions, and what happens after checkout.
Our ghostwriting services cover the agreed manuscript scope: project discovery, structural planning, writing up to the stated word limit, scheduled feedback checkpoints, revision work within the agreed brief and clean manuscript handover. Editing, formatting, cover design, publishing and marketing are separate services unless they are added to a written proposal.
Rights, authorship credit, confidentiality and permitted disclosures are set out in the written project agreement before work begins. Review that agreement carefully and ask us to clarify any term before you approve the project; marketing copy does not replace the contract.
The current package schedule runs from 4 weeks for the shortest scope to 12 weeks for the longest. The confirmed delivery plan also depends on project complexity, research and how quickly feedback is returned at each checkpoint.
Voice direction starts with your examples, reference authors, recorded or written source material and clear notes on what should not sound like you. Early feedback checkpoints are used to correct tone and phrasing before those choices repeat across the manuscript.
Each package is built around a different kind of book. The Authority Book (up to 15,000 words) suits coaches, consultants, founders and speakers who need a short, credible book. The Full Story (up to 40,000 words) suits memoir, life story and full-length non-fiction. The Complete Novel (up to 70,000 words) suits fiction. If the structure, research burden or final length is still uncertain, send the project-fit brief so the team can confirm scope before checkout.
Yes. Ghostwriting is an ordinary commissioning arrangement: you engage a writer to produce work for you, and the written agreement sets out authorship credit, rights and confidentiality before drafting begins. Publishing under your own name is normal practice across business books, memoir and fiction. If you intend to publish on Amazon KDP, note that its content guidelines ask you to declare AI-GENERATED text — your manuscript is written by a person, and what you declare remains your decision as the publisher of record.
Ours start at £797 for The Authority Book (Up to 15k words), £1,997 for The Full Story (Up to 40k words) and £3,297 for The Complete Novel (Up to 70k words). Rates across the UK market vary widely with the writer's experience and the length of the book. Before you commit anything, you can apply for a free chapter of your own book and judge the writing first.
Yes, but the idea still needs to become an agreed brief before drafting. A project-fit review can clarify the reader, promise, structure, source material and realistic word-count range. The free outline generator is also useful if you want to explore a structure first.
One page, one decision
You don’t have to hire a ghostwriter on a promise. Tell us what your book is about — if we take it on, a ghostwriter writes your opening chapter and you decide from there.
