Areen is a Book Editor at HMD Publishing, working with authors on the manuscript itself before anything reaches design or production. She looks at structure and argument as well as line-level clarity, flags where a reader is likely to lose the thread, and keeps names, terms and style consistent across the whole book. Editing at HMD is collaborative: the author's voice is the thing being strengthened, not replaced.
