Uzma edits manuscripts for HMD Publishing's clients, taking a draft to the standard a professional release requires. She works through grammar, punctuation, tense and consistency, queries the passages that will read ambiguously to someone who does not already know the book, and hands production a clean text. Most of what an editor prevents is invisible in the finished book, which is the point.
