Meet Alyonushka, a hand-drawn children's book illustration concept of folk embroidery, village easels, picnic stories and a dance beneath blue domes.

Alyonushka writes at a window desk beside jugs of wildflowers, paints a flower-filled canvas at an easel outside a cottage, reads on a picnic blanket with her teddy and baskets by the stream, and twirls down a cobbled lane beneath blue church domes. Red-and-blue folk embroidery patterns every scene. The supporting sheets add turnarounds, eight expressions, five labelled poses, six outfit variations, companion studies, pattern close-ups and a storyboard called A Little Day in the Village.
