Alyonushka writes at a window desk beside jugs of wildflowers, paints a flower-filled canvas at an easel outside a cottage, reads on a picnic blanket with her teddy and baskets by the stream, and twirls down a cobbled lane beneath blue church domes. Red-and-blue folk embroidery patterns every scene.
