Meet Gauri, a hand-drawn children's book illustration concept of village mornings, a stone well, a blue water pot and a little yellow bird companion.
Gauri carries her blue pot down a lane of painted houses past a white cow, fills it at the stone well beside the lake, daydreams under a great tree with books and a basket of flowers, and reaches her lantern-lit doorway at sunset. A small yellow bird stays perched on her head through it all. The supporting sheets add turnarounds, eight expressions, action poses, six clothing variations, calf and friend studies, bird poses and a six-panel storyboard of a day in Gauri's life.
