Meet Rainbow Girl, a hand-drawn children's book illustration concept with neighbourhood and nature scenes, character design, relationships and pencil sketches.

Rainbow Girl walks a suburban street past a chalk rainbow, draws at a desk beneath a hand-lettered poster, crouches with a magnifying glass to study a ladybird in a pollinator garden, then runs with her arms wide as the sky turns amber. Her patterned denim and red headband carry through every scene. The supporting sheets cover her turnarounds, eight expressions, six outfits, her best friend, her mother and her puppy Biscuit.
