About This Role
As a Book Publishing Expert, you'll be the bridge between a finished manuscript and a successfully published book. You'll guide authors through the sometimes complex world of self-publishing, ensuring their books are set up for success from day one.
From account setup to metadata optimization, from category selection to pricing strategy, you'll leverage your expertise to give every book the best possible start. You'll work with Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, Draft2Digital, and other platforms to ensure global distribution.
This role is perfect for someone who loves the technical side of publishing and gets satisfaction from seeing books go live and start selling.
What You'll Do
- Set up and manage book listings on Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and other platforms
- Optimize book metadata including titles, descriptions, and keywords for discoverability
- Select appropriate categories and BISAC codes to maximize visibility
- Configure pricing and royalty settings across global marketplaces
- Troubleshoot publishing issues and resolve platform errors
- Guide authors through the publishing process with clear explanations
- Stay updated on platform changes and industry best practices
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience with Amazon KDP and IngramSpark
- Understanding of book metadata, keywords, and category optimization
- Knowledge of ISBN assignment and management
- Ability to troubleshoot common publishing platform issues
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written communication skills
- Organized approach to managing multiple projects
Nice to Have
- Experience with Draft2Digital, Apple Books, or Kobo
- Understanding of print specifications and file preparation
- Knowledge of global marketplace differences
- Background in library distribution or wholesale channels
