About This Role
As an Illustrator & Infographic Designer at HMD Publishing, you'll create visual content that enhances and elevates books. From children's book illustrations to business book infographics, your artwork will help authors communicate complex ideas and engage readers visually.
You'll work on diverse projects - perhaps a whimsical character for a children's story one day and a sophisticated data visualization for a business book the next. Your creativity and versatility will be key assets.

What You'll Do
- Create custom illustrations for children's books and other titles
- Design infographics and data visualizations for non-fiction
- Develop consistent visual styles for book projects
- Collaborate with authors to bring their visions to life
- Prepare files for both print and digital formats
- Iterate based on feedback while maintaining creative quality
- Meet project deadlines and manage multiple assignments
What We're Looking For
- Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration and/or infographic work
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools
- Ability to work in various styles based on project needs
- Excellent visual communication skills
- Understanding of print and digital specifications
- Responsive communication and ability to incorporate feedback
- Time management skills for meeting deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience with children's book illustration
- Data visualization expertise
- Animation or motion graphics skills
- Traditional art background
